Spacex plans to launch 4000 satellites
SpaceX is one of the many companies started by Elon Musk, who founded Tesla and PayPal, among others. His ambitious goal for SpaceX was to make launches to Space cheaper and safer, to allow for more space exploration. This fairly recent company has already done so, by designing rockets that are safely landed back on earth rather then being discarded, which saves a lot of money. Since then, SpaceX has developed technology that allows rockets to take off, deposit their payload into space, and then return back on earth, ready to be reused. This company has already sent one of their reused Falcon 9 rockets back into space to send a communications satellite into orbit.
The next big goal for SpaceX is designing internet satellites, to provide high-speed internet to the world. Currently, earth has just over 1400 satellites orbiting, and SpaceX is planning to triple that by 2019. Cooper, the SpaceX vice president of satellite affairs, said: "In the future, these satellites would provide additional broadband capacity to the SpaceX system and further reduce latency where populations are heavily concentrated." The company has also stated how its satellites will alleviate the need to site wireless towers, dig tenches, lay fiber, and deal with property rights.

I think that what this company is doing is really cool, and how the aren't doing for profit, but to make the world better. This is what is missing today. Most companies today exist to make a profit, and they don't care whether it benefits the world or not. But SpaceX it different, because Musk saw that space exploration was fading, due to how expensive it was to launch a rocket, and he resolved to fix that. I think that it shows how much of this world is focused on maximizing profit, but at least there are still some companies that are willing to sacrifice money to improve our world.
